We’re ringing in 2021 by celebrating a woman who defines Betty Strong. Our January Betty, Marion Clark, works hard & plays even harder in & out of the waves to bring a stoked life to any and all who board her Surf Bus. We were pumped to catch up with the latest. Here’s what she shared…
“After becoming a mom, I’ve learned how to surf with a new body, a new confidence & a new presence in the line-up. Often, I’m the only woman in the water…and it can be easy to give up waves, thinking ‘that guy wants it more, so they go ahead’… but now, after feeling into this awesome power of motherhood, I’m like, ‘Nope. That’s mine. And I make everyone feel that. It’s a REALLY cool & amazing feeling…
“I’m super into Mommy and me outfits, haha! I didn’t see that coming, but I love twinning with my little girl! Before I thought it was super cheesy, but I seriously love it so much now…
“My goals for 2021 are to restructure the donation program for the Surf Bus. Through doing this, I want to make the kids who — for their whole life were told they can’t surf, they don’t belong at the beach, or, its not for them — feel welcomed by the Ocean AT ALL TIMES, and that there’s a whole community of people who WANT them to be there.”
