It’s been a while since we featured this OG Betty Team Rider, so it’s time to catch up Cayden!… an amazing stylish soul, designer, and maker. This is what she shared…
“Currently writing this in Baja while scoring some epic waves with an empty lineup. This is literally what dreams are made of…My son Clay on my board, my son Vance on my husbands board, my father-in- law was out, and a father son duo from Ventura we just met in the water –that’s it! I have loved it here since I first started coming almost 20 years ago…now I’m bringing my own kids to the same spot that holds so many precious memories and epic waves. So many things get me stoked these days! Seeing my kids surfing and LOVING IT gets me so stoked!! Watching my two boys become the best of friends gets me stoked!”
“Life is just magical right now. I am diving deep into making sewing patterns! I started sewing as a child, then I had my first home sewing “business” when I was a senior in high school. While studying fashion in college I was just sewing for fun. Then I took up the business again after having my second baby by making upcycled quilt & blanket coats & tie tops from tablecloths (Red Wagon Wardrobe at markets & sometimes sell them on my IG). I dove a step further into sewing pattern making. I never thought I could make sewing patterns & I certainly never thought I’d enjoy it this much! I have 5 patterns released & 3 in the works (CaydenNaughton on Etsy). I am so stoked to bring my designs to two markets in November (scope out deets below)!
“My goals for the rest of the year & into 2025 are to release 2 of my sewing patterns in the works. I’m so so stoked on them & can’t wait to bring them to the sewing community! At the same time, I want to focus on being present with my family through the holiday season. My kids are 4 & 2, and the holidays through their eyes is quite literally magic. There’s nothing like it & I don’t want to miss a minute! Going into 2025 I just want to soak up every moment with my kiddos! They’re so fun (and exhausting), but changing so much each day I don’t want to miss a bit of it. I’m also very optimistic of where my business is going, and to be challenging myself & learning more!
