February brings a season of killer waves to the SoCal coast & no one is more stoked than our Betty of the Month, Team Rider Brooke Carlson. She’s an amazing surfer rising in the longboard ranks & the rad chick we named the Brooke Sea Glass Collection after.
A water baby from the infamous surf spot of Malibu, riding waves is in her DNA. We chimed in to get the latest, here’s where Betty life is taking her…
“Surfing is my life! I recently just got back from a trip to Fujisawa, Japan for my first [Vans] Duct Tape Invitational, definitely one of the most amazing trips I’ve ever been on. In 2019 I had the amazing opportunity to have traveled to several different countries, meeting new people, and surfing every step of the way. Surfing has opened up so many opportunities, but it didn’t come without hard work, not only in the water, but financially as well…
[Doing] my best to pay my way through my surfing career, but I’m also very thankful to have sponsors like Betty Belts to help me… I’m working to better my surfing, workout to build strength, got a job & studying [to graduate high school]. On the side I’m working on building a brand in fashion for upcycled clothing, It’s a work in process …but I recently open up a Depop where I’m selling some of my @brookiebu designs. [This month] I’m super excited to be going to Australia which I’ll be surfing in the Noosa Festival, as well as competing in the first stop of the WSL Longboard World Tour. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for myself & the longboarding community. Thank you Betty Belts for supporting me since the beginning. Much love for the Betty family!”
